Agree/Disagree T-charts: Supporting Claims with Multiple Sources of Evidence

This video features ways of supporting students to coordinate different forms of evidence (from personal experience, experiments, texts) when evaluating claims about a phenomenon. Agree/disagree T-charts serve as living tools over time to negotiate and record evidence for and against claims.

The tools and practices in this video can engage students as active participants in evaluating evidence in relation to claims. Importantly, students’ personal experiences in the natural world are valued as a form of evidence, highlighting these experiences as valid ways of knowing in science.
